GG Exposes: Y&R Racist Allegations

In the first video alone Victoria Rowell drops major bombshells about her departure from "The Young And The Restless." In an explosive tell all interview Victoria alleges that daytime divas Michelle Stafford and Melody Thomas par took in some racist stunts. Michelle allegedly spit on Victoria, and Melody an around in a afro wig to "mock" Victoria and her diversity. According to the former daytime superstar Sony bosses had to come to the set and get an apology from both of the actress' who are both still with the show.

Even more stunning Victoria claims that she decided to leave after she was told the show had never let someone in the cast direct or write. She also wonders why the producers had to put out a petition to see if the cast wanted her to return to the show. Especially since over at sister show Bold and TheBeautiful Susan Flannery has been allowed to direct episodes.

Kristoff St. John backed up her claims by saying that because he led the charge to bring her back, he was passed over for story lines for months. Darius McCarty who took over the role of MalcolmWinters is asking why things have to be "black and white" with her. Ms. Rowell claims that Kristoff makes less than some of his white colleagues. In fact she alleges that her former co-star has taken 50% pay cuts 2 or 3 times already.

Costumes also seem to be on the agenda for Victoria. She alleges that she was asked to keep the tags inside her costume, and that she feels this was harassment. And this seems to be just one of many run ins between her and the producers of the show. A producer from The Price Is Right backs up claims that CBS does ask their "black talent" to do little things that can seem a bit racist.

Is this a case of sour grapes as is suggested at the end of the second video? Or are there real claims in there?

GG Reviews: Goddess Of Vengeance

It's no secret to anyone who has been near me that I simply adore ms Jackie Collins, and that I have read every book she has ever published. I am such a huge fan of hers that I try to model my own writing after hers. Don't shake your heads at me and tell me I should find my own voice. I do but it never hurts to have a role model to help you along the way.

With that in mind, I should now tell you that I love Jackie's #1 heroine: Lucky Santangelo, and in Goddess Of Vengeance our girl is back and feistier than ever before. When a real estate tycoon wants to buy Lucky's pride and joy "The Keys" we see the real Lucky at work. Jackie excels at the girl power stories and showing us that woman are just as strong and devious as men, maybe more so. With Lucky, Jackie always shows her as the strong heroine in charge and never doubting herself. so it is nice to see her being conflicted over what to do with her daughter Max.

Little Maria, who changed her name to Max, Lucky's daughter and character clone. I personally love the fact that the Santangelo's will go on with Max as the likely main character in the future. Clearly Jackie has learned a lot from soaps because she has passed the torch brilliantly from mother to daughter. Max's story is about as soapy as it gets: She loses her virginity and falls in love with hermoms best friends soon to be ex husband. Its not as sleazy as it sounds and you will be cheering for the couple, I know I did. I won't spoil the ending but it is perfect for hard core Jackie fans.

The character that Max hates the most, is the one I thought that would be Jackie's next heroine extraordinaire, Denver Jones. Denver actually made her debut in Poor Little Bitch Girl, but it in Goddess we really learn more about her. Denver is dating Lucky's son Bobby but she is a little put off by his lifestyle. Throughout the book, we see her waiver trying to decide if it is worth investing in this relationship with someone who is so much richer than she is. Where Max's story is soapy goodness, Denvers story is realistic and rooted very much in Denver and Bobby's characters. Never have I wanted a couple to get and stay together as I did Denver and Bobby.

Now onto my favorite character of all of Jackie's books, one Venus Maria. I adore Lucky, she is great but her best friend is exceptional. It's as if Jackie transplanted Erica Kane into her books and made her a singer/movie star. Why Jackie has never done a full book with Venus as the lead, I'll never know but I will take the diva any way I can get her. Her story in this book is all about finding herself again after being married to a much younger man, and looking to stay on top career-wise. When she treats her young lover with disregard, you don't hate her, you understand that she just doesn't want to attach herself to anyone at the moment.

Four different characters, and yet their lives are forever intertwined and the stories that are told about them are simply perfect. Jackie never hits a false note with her tales, and in Goddess Of Vengeance she once again proves why no one can master her domain.

Let's Talk: Sex With A Friends Ex

How many of you watch Hot In Cleveland? Did you catch last weeks episode, before the three weekhiatus? At the end Melanie was seen talking and possibly sleeping with her friend Joy's ex fiancee. It got me to thinking that while this situation will be played out for comedy, is it appropriate to have sex with one of your friends exes?

I'm sure we've all had sex with our exes, I know I have quite a few times. However I don't think I ever slept with a friends ex. There have been close calls and what not but overall I haven't done that. Of course it has been done to me but it didn't bother me, I was with someone else at the time and it seemed to be silly to be jealous.

Royal Rant: Anderson Cooper Isn't Top Gay

I am madder than Mitt Romney trying to take a firm stand on something. Out has named Anderson Cooper as one of the most powerful gays for this year. He beat out such celebs as Neil Patrick Harris and Andy Cohen which doesn't seem like a big deal right?

Wrong! Anderson Cooper has never publicly acknowledged he is gay. Sure everyone says it's an open secret and he just doesn't feel the need to talk about it. Thats great for him and I wish him nothing but the best but i'll be damned if i think he should be among those brave souls that do dare to come out and help people realize that their sexuality is a bit piece of a puzzle, that is OK to be gay.

Did he ask for the "honor" probably not. Many of my friends who are fans of Anderson Cooper tell me he is a gentleman and doesn't care for publicity and what not.  Which makes me even angrier that Out decided to give him the kind of press that this will undoubtedly generate. Maybe they thought including him on the list would bring attention to  the magazine, which it did but it also generated headlines for him and mentions of his talk show. Again not mad at him but you can't soak up this attention and remain nonchalant about your own sexuality.

 If this is Out's way of well outing Anderson then shame on them. While I do feel strongly that one should come out to show society that it is OK to be gay, there is no excuse for outing someone. All the press in the world won't undo the damage if the publication revealed that Anderson Cooper is more than just a friend of Kathy Griffin.

Blind: Double Role For One Popular Actor

The fans of a certain primetime actor will double their pleasure by season’s end, when their favorite star pops up in a dual role.

Is this a case of an “evil twin” (viva Grant Putnam!), an unexplained doppelganger (remember Peter Brady and Arthur Owens?), or the increasingly trendy alt-universe counterpart? I’m not at liberty to say, because the reveal is meant to be quite the finale-time showstopper. (And trust me, it willbe.)

I can only part with this one hint: The show in question is a drama. Also, I’m personally curious to see the performer in question share his/her take on this “double take.”

I’ve been watching ABC Family’s new show, Pretty Little Liars on Tuesdays at 8. The commercials were just enough to catch my attention. The dead girl sends a text from her funeral? Okay, I’ll give it a shot. So I started watching the show, and I was pleasantly surprised to see some of my favorite actors in the cast. Chad Lowe (Jesse from Life Goes On), Holly Marie Combs (from Charmed, one of my fave shows ever) and Laura Leighton (from Melrose Place… never figured out how she got onto 90210 as anyone other than Sydney, since Melrose was a 90210 spinoff, but whatever…) play the parents of the main characters. It’s nice to see them playing their own ages. It seems Hollywood has been letting older people play younger people for way too long! (I just found out that Ian Ziering was26 when he played 16-year-old Steve Sanders on the original 90210).

The basic story is that there were five friends, Emily, Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Alison who were inseparable. In the flashbacks, it seems like Alison was the leader, manipulating the others into doing what she wants. A prank gone too far apparently blinded a girl, who disappeared until a year later when Alison’s body was discovered, and attended the funeral. Alison had somehow managed to get the girl’s step brother to take the fall for the “accident.” It’s hard to tell from the flashbacks, but at some point after the “accident”, the girls have a sleepover in a shed of some sorts with alcohol, and while everyone is asleep, Alison disappears. Outside the funeral, the four remaining girls get a simultaneous text that seems to be from the departed Alison. Each of the four girls get their own private texts as well, all being warned that their dirty little secrets will come to light. They seem to have come from Alison, as they are about things only she knew.

I think they are throwing the right mix of parents into an obviously teen show. Holly Marie Combsplays Aria’s mother, Ella, who is still smitten with her husband Byron, played by Chad Lowe, even though he had an affair with one of his college students and Aria caught them. She promised not to tell her mom when Byron swore the affair was over, but she’s never been able to trust or be comfortable around her dad since. The whole family went to Iceland for a year for Byron’s sabbatical and when they come back, the girlfriend is now a teacher at his college and can’t be gotten rid of. She’s also weaseled her way into Ella’s professional life. Laura Leighton is Hanna’s mom, Ashley, who had to sleep with a cop to get Ashley out of shoplifting charges. He’s also the cop investigating Alison’s death, and when Alison’s body is found about a year after her disappearance, the investigation reopens. Emily is torn romantically between her boyfriend and the new girl in town. Spencer has high expectations from her family to live up to, but gets sidetracked when her sister’s fiancé puts the moves on her. Oh yeah, and Aria is sleeping with her English teacher.

This is where the show doesn’t work for me. These girls are sixteen and they have grown men throwing themselves at them. It’s disgusting and illegal. The show could have worked better if the girls had been in college instead of high school. Then it would still be taboo to mess around with the future brother-in-law and the guy who grades your papers, and all of these girls could easily pass for college-age. I’m really on the fence as to whether I’m going to keep watching this show. Spencer put the brakes on her could-have-been relationship with her sister’s now ex-fiance, and that’s good, but Aria continues to sleep with her teacher because they have some intense connection. It’s just wrong, and honestly I can’t figure out why a show like this is airing on ABC Family channel. This show really does have great potential, but it makes me uncomfortable watching a 16-year old girl screwing her teacher on a counter, a teacher that has to be at least 25 since he’s done with his own schooling. I’m not sure if I’ll keep watching, or if I’ll find another way to spend my Tuesday nights. The show is based on a book of the same title by Sara Shepard. Maybe I’ll read the book and see if that changes my attitude any. Books are always better than shows.

Royal Recommends: Ruthless, A Pretty Little Liars Book

Remember when Mandy talked about Pretty Little Liars (the TV Show) and her big problem with it was the younger girls sleeping with older guys? I'm happy to report that the new book in the series (the tenth!!!) actually deals with those issues, head on!

In the beginning of the book, our four "Liars" are on speaking terms but not as close as they used to be. Each girl, like always, has a story of her own but the gift this time is that two of the stories end up intertwining and changing the direction of the series. I won't ruin it for those of you that has yet to read the book but I loved the way these stories intersected and really did not see it coming.

Introduced in this book is Kelsey a girl that Spencer knew the summer before. Her story is very much along the lines of Lady Macbeth who she is playing in the school play. Coincidence I think not, but the story really delivers some of the campiest, best scenes of the series and thats saying something!! Spencer orchestrated a scheme so outlandish that you have to read it to believe it, and roped in one of her fellow "Liars" to help it's downfall.

Emily's sister comes to town and unleashes her bad girl side! Normally I'm not an Emily fan, one book she's a lesbian , the next book she's straight again! Pick a side Sara Shepard! Anyways this story was pretty good, and drove home the point that Emily has been really wound up and may not be sure of who she is as a person.

Aria is of course having romantic problems. Remember Klaudia from the last book? She's back and still torturing our heroine! Noel dumps Aria, because according to him they are too different and he can't deal with it anymore. An old love comes back and sweeps her off her feet but soon shows his true colors and before you know it, Aria is single again. There is a contrived part but for some reason this didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

Hannah, oh my favorite Hannah! Yep I saved the (second) best for last! I love Hannah and her diva-liciouness. This time she gets her own Romeo & Juliet story, with the son of her fathers political rival. I got swept up in the romance of her story until the very end and then felt just as betrayed as she did. Of course our Hannah being who she is got her revenge, but that doesn't always heal a broken heart. One lesson our Hannah has learned is that coming clean means less notes from A.

All in all this book like all of the PLL books are a great time waster! This one has a little more meat behind it and the stories seem to be more thought out than before, which only serves to strengthen the franchise! Until the next book comes out bitches! xoxox

On last night's Glee, Kurt and Blaine had a very interesting storyline. Kurt was text flirting with a guy he met at the music store because he felt unappreciated by his boyfriend, when Blaine found out he accused his partner of cheating.  It must be said here and now that Darren Criss (Blaine) and Chris Colfer (Kurt) brought their A Game!! The question is; Is texting/flirting cheating?

My answer is simply no. I worked in retail for many years and flirting was part of my job, sure Kurt didn't want Blaine to see the texts but that still doesn't qualify as cheating in my eyes. Kissing, getting physical (you know what I mean) those type of things would be cheating but not flirting/texting.

So I pose the question to you, Is texting someone else cheating?

At the gym with a Network Television Actress from a popular show who was texting her husband back and forth. The Actress argued with her hubby through text and oddly enough, kept sharing it with our source and several other people in her group. We didn’t know how else to write this one, except to share the manipulative conversation the two had via cell phone. The texts our source saw read something like this:

Husband: It’s over. I want a divorce. I’m leaving. Tonight.
Actress: You’re telling me this through text?
Husband: Stop changing the subject. It’s over.
Actress: Where is this coming from? You’ll divorce me? I’ve stuck it out through everything.
(Apparently the dude cheated on her last year.)
Husband: I’m sick of begging for you to do things other women would do in a heart beat.
Actress: Fine, divorce me. I don’t care.
Husband: You will care, no man is going to want you, look at you. I’m the best you’re ever going to get.
Actress: So you’re leaving me because I’ve asked you to spend more time with me and the kids.
Husband: Good luck finding a man who will do that.

The conversation continued like that, over and over, back and forth, with the husband slamming her down, blaming her, telling her she wasn’t good enough. Finally, with her apologizing and him agreeing to not move out and stay.

 Mom was worried about something much more important than her daughter’s increasingly wild and erratic behavior. She was worried about how public perception of that behavior would affect Girl’s career. So, after a particularly shocking incident, Mom decided to get Girl out of the public eye for a while by taking her away to another city.

Girl quickly got bored hiding out in the hotel, so Mom flew in one of Girl’s friends, and the two of them spent a couple of weeks shopping and getting spa treatments… while Mom came up the concept of “reh*b”. It was a calculated way for Girl to continue to stay out of the public eye for an extended period of time. More importantly, as long as Mom and Girl never admitted that she was going there for dr*g- or alc*hol-related problems, it would be difficult for people to criticize Girl when she got out. So, Girl was sent off to “rehab” for unspecified problems.

Now you know that it was all a public relations move and that Girl was in treatment for a much shorter amount of time she and Mom claim. And while we’re glad that Girl actually did wind up getting help with some of her very real issues, her best chance at true recovery will happen when she starts being honest. That’s going to be difficult with such a scheming mother.
