It's been nearly a week since President Obama came out in favor of gay marriage, and the discussion is as heated as it ever was. Our friends over at US Common Sense have a timeline about the events that changed history last week. Click on the link and see what they have to say, they also share the opinions of other bloggers, including myself.
The best debates I've been having are not centered around whether gays should get married or not, most of my friends already think we should be allowed to. But rather whether or not his support of gay marriage will hurt President Obama in the fall. Frankly, all he did was energize his base and get us to open up our wallets a little to make sure that he gets four more years, so that gays have an ally in the white house.
If you're for gay marriage, its likely you were already voting for President Obama, and if you're against it well not only are you wrong but you were voting for Mitt Romney anyways. There are very few undecided voters who will be swayed one way or the other with this issue, instead come November the issue at the forefront of the campaigns will be the economy, not whether or not I can have a 55 hour marriage or not. I'm just sayin....
