Royal Rant: Can You Cher Your Life With Me?

"Do you believe in life after love?" Cher asks her fans in her biggest hit to date, 'Believe'. The truth is sometimes it is better to be single than be with someone who you don't really feel that you're compatible with, than to keep dating someone just to be with someone.

I had been seeing someone for a minute, my roommate is rolling his eyes right now. There was a lot of drama connected with it, I'll tell you guys about it later. Anyways I had been seeing someone and things were moving along quite nicely, if not a tad fast. Anyways a conversation popped up that took me by complete surprise. It started when I wanted to listen to a Cher song, "You haven't seen the last of me'. The guy I was seeing looked at me surprised and said "I hate Cher. She has no talent!"

I searched for some alcohol to wash my brain of that horridness, the audacity to question the legitimacy of Cher. I was astounded that a fellow gay would attack such a beloved icon, someone who has gone through a lot of change and stands with us. When we finally got to the restaurant, I immediately ordered a drink and surveyed him and asked if he was putting me on.

Sadly the answer was no. Shortly after we stopped seeing one another. I can get over a lot of things but there are a few that really make me think about a persons character. Sure not everyone has to like Cher, I'd be ok with that but there were other problems and really my liver could not take much more of the kind of drinking i would have had to do.

You all know my Susan Lucci (he didn't know who she was!!), Madonna, Britney, Cher are all important to me. I wouldn't dump a guy over them necessarily but it does show a guys character if he slams them easily. Mandy and I have had our share of dating disasters, but as Cher says in her Burlesque song 'You haven't seen the last of me'
