Parenting Advice From Miley Cyrus: Talk About Sex

Hannah Montana has something to say about  parents not talking to their kids about sex, she thinks it sucks. Miley Cyrus told Amanda de Cadenet on her Lifetime talk show The Conversation"It's ignorant to not talk to your kids about it or make it seem like it's not as cool or magical as it actually is. If [kids] have a TV, they know what sex is. Everyone knows, so educate them." Is that why Hannah Montana dated all of those boys, and had that very special episode concerning teen pregnancy?

Ok so that was a little harsh of me, because I do agree with Miley that parents should talk to their kids about sex. It isn't the job of TV to educate your kids about the pleasures and yes dangers of having sex, its yours. Unless of course you want to be a grandma at age 40 something like Sarah Palin.

Abstinence is all well fine and good if you honestly think your teenage boy doesn't want to figure out what his wing wang does, or your daughter doesn't want to find a banana for her split. The truth is, the more parents talk to their kids about the "beautiful thing, and it is magic" as Miley describes it, the more I think the teens will be more apt to actually think about the consequences.

Do you think Parents should talk to their kids about sex?
