Want a good beach read? You should definitely pick up a copy of The Young And Restless star Eileen Davidson's book Death In Daytime. The book that kicks off the Soap Opera Mystery series is one of the easiest and most fun reads I've had in quite a while.
The story is constructed quite like a real soap opera murder mystery and I mean that in the best possible way!! Our heroine Alexis Peterson is a soap actress, who hates the word diva (don't get me started!) and had quite the fight with The Yearning Tide's headwriter, who ends up being killed by her Emmy. Within chapters Alexis goes from being an actress to an armaturedetective trying to clear her name in the murder.
As mentioned the story is constructed like a soap so there are twists that leave you wondering what will happen next and others making you wonder why that was thrown in. Of course it wouldn't be a real soapy story without the requisite triangle, though it does seem to be very unfair and unequal! Of course I am sure that once you read it you will have a different view of it and we can debate it then!!!
I was able to read Death In Daytime in hours, so that should tell you something, go out and pick up a copy and treat yourself to a terrific read!
