Royal Rant: Diva Tips

Recently I was out with friends, watching a drag show. Which is an apt name for what we saw, theseperformers had no energy, they walked around but did no dancing, nothing to earn the tips that they were clearly expecting. What infuriates me is that they barely lip sync but they want us to think of them as real entertainers, well I told one of them that I seen while buying a drink that she was a real bore. Then I proceeded to giver her the same three tips that I give to anyone who ask me how to be a diva!

1. Hold Up Your Head As If You Own The Room: Simple yet effective. Whenever I walk into a room, I make sure to hold my head up high and walk around with confidence. Even if you feel insecure, putting on an air of confidence will boost yours.

2. Don't Let Anything Get In The Way Of Entertainment: There is nothing worse than a drag queen who doesn't dance, a comedian who doesn't make you laugh or a writer who bores you. My grandma used to tell me, "Honey no matter what, never bore your friends." And I live by that motto, if things seem to be dull or God forbid, boring I find a story to liven things up some how.

3. Be Yourself: If a person likes you they like you for you. Not because they think that you're something that you may turn into. All of my friends know that I'm multi faceted and theres always a new layer underneath the one that was just discovered. I don't pretend to be someone I'm not or that I only have one layer to my personality. One dimensional people are just plain boring.

And now you have the first steps to becoming a diva, and hopefully that drag queen shared with hersister performers. That ways next time I go to my favorite bar, I am not bored to tears by a non-performance.
