I hadn't heard much about Fat Joe, since well, since early in the 2000's. However The Advocate posted an article about him that I found to be truly compelling. In the above interview the rapper says that there are gay people all over (DUH!) and that he feels that the gay people running hip hop are doing a disservice to the LGBT community by staying in the closet. He cites Lasy Gaga's embracing of the community and her unreal success as indicators that the time is now to come out.

Fat Joe To Hip Hop Gays: Come Out!!
