Alyssa saw the girl enter the restaurant and look around. She was obviously new in town. Debating on whether or not she should talk to the girl, she let her mind wander a bit and was surprised when the girl approached her, taking away her choice. Damn it, isn't this America, she thought, Don't we have the right to choose?
“I'm looking for my fiancee,” Sunny said her eyes surveying the room. “Perhaps you know him,” She kept looking for any signs of Shane. “His name is Shane Patenge.”
“Shane? You're Shanes fiancee?” Alyssa asked milking it. She had already formed a plan, “I thought he was with Savannah,” she paused for a minute, hoping the smile wouldn't spread across her face. She pointed to Savannah, whose parents still hadn't shown up, “Thats her over there. Shane and her looked really cozy about 5 or 10 minutes ago, So I just figured that they were together.”
Laura was brought by, her face red, eyes blazing mad “Alyssa, please bail me out. I need your help, please.”
“Who was that?” Sunny asked, feeling sorry for the girl being led away in handcuffs.
“Her name is Laura, Savannah is sleeping with her husband.” Alyssa shook her head. “I guess that girl can't get a man of her own so she goes after other peoples significant others.”
“I should go have a chat with her,” Sunny felt a fury building inside of her. Her phone buzzed, she looked at it. Shane had sent her a text asking her to come back to their apartment. Her confrontation with Savannah would just have to wait. “I have to go, thank you for all of your help.”
Alyssa smiled. “It's all in a days work.” she watched as Sunny made her way out of the restaurant. Sighing to herself, “Helping others is so hard. I guess thats my lot in life, being a giver.”
Kevin studied the man in front of him. He wasn't quite sure what to make of him. On the one hand he was very attractive, Kevin couldn't help but notice his full pouty lips, and amazing gray eyes. Then he opened his mouth and all the good qualities went out the window.
“That is why we need not take money from the Tender Love-in Care line. We don't want straight people to see us as sexual deviants.” Scott had opened with that statement.
“Are you kidding me with this? We need all the sponsors we can get and you want to turn one down because of their line of business? Are you nuts?”
“So we lose out on a few dollars, the money is not as important as helping shape our image. We need to show straight people that we're just like them, so they are willing to give us the right to marry.”
“Where did you pull that from? We are not the same as straight people, period. As for the right to get married, it shouldn't matter what straight people say, we are entitled to marry the person we love no matter what. What these politicians are doing, is trampling over the constitution, it says right in there that every person has the right pursue happiness, as long as it doesn't invade on someone elses rights.”
“Don't be so naïve, of course we have to play their game. They have what we want and in order for us to get it, we have to do what they say, in this case we have to tone down the sexual provocations in public. Who cares what you do in the privacy of your own home, as long as its not done in public.”
“What?” Kevin asked shocked. “How can you say things like that with a straight face, no pun intended. We do not have to play by their rules, in fact we should just march up to the courthouse and demand that they issue a marriage license for us. For any couple that chooses to get married, no one has the right to say no, just because they don't approve.”
“they're the ones who sign the laws, not God. Who are they to say that we are immoral when most of them haven't touched their wives in years but have the local madams on speed dial.”
Scott sighed “You just don't get it.”
Kevin stared at the man in front of him “No I just don't get you.”
Sarah sat looking at the computer screen, Google seemed to be taking forever to load. Normally this sort of menial task would have been dropped on Kevin, but lately he had been distracted and being rather feisty, something that would have to be dealt with later.
Right now she had to find some dirt on her soon to be daughter in law. Sure the staff had reported the nasty fight that Shane and Sunny had, but if she knew her son, he would be making up with his future wife any minute now. The first page was filled with nothing of use to her. Why would she represent Sunny Smith, unless doing so would get her away from Shane. It was an appealing thought but then Sunny might get full of herself as a Hollywood actress and call for Shane again. Though she may meet Taylor Lautner and marry him, that would be ideal but she couldn't take that chance.
No, she needed dirt on this girl and she needed it now. Alas once again technology was failing her, she decided some good old fashioned detective work needed to be done. If only she could get her hands on that phone that had caused the fight in the first place, she would have some leverage to start widening the wedge between them.
“Lucia, please tell the staff that whoever gives me that phone will get a nice bonus in their next pay check. The sooner the better, and the more the reward will be for that lucky, lucky person.” She hung up without waiting for a response. Now that she had a plan in place, she felt better, there was no way Shane was marrying that girl. He would be better off, she knew that much for sure.......
