Soap Sense

Best Comeback: David Hayward, All My Children. Sure many fans complained that they saw it coming but admit it, your jaw still dropped when they panned to David after Greenlee was sentenced to life in prison. The writers built the suspense perfectly and Vincent Irizarry played thestraight man perfectly.

Worst Comeback: Vanessa Marcil, General Hospital. Currently Vanessa's return to General Hospital is the sites most read story but the actual return fell flat. Islanding the dynamic Vanessa in Rome with new, albeit intriguing characters made the show suffer a great deal. Once the story picked up in Port Charles it became the Brenda Hour and fans resented it, rather than welcoming home their diva, and that is truly sad.

Casting Dream We'd love To See: (tie) Van Hansis as Petey Cortland and Jake Silberman as Jamie Martin, AMC. On As The World Turns they were paired together and formed supercouple NUKE, on AMC the two could go head to head as rivals, Van would have chemistry with a tree so mustering chemistry with Colby would be no problem, Jake could have his pick of leading ladies but how great would he be with Rebecca Budigs Greenlee.

Best Use Of Talent: Days Of our Lives: Every new character that is brought in generates story for veteran characters as it should be. Days better than any other soap uses the history of their vets to drive current story and keep the show grounded.

Worst Recast: Eden Riegel, Young And The Restless: Eden is still a terrific actress, that hasn't changed. She is woefully miscast in the role of Heather though. the writers know they have a dynamo in Eden but they don't know or can't decide what to do with her and its the fans who pay.

Best Recast: Christina Bennet Lind . No, my sense haven't taken a leave. Christina still is no Eden Riegel but seeing as she wasn't available to reclaim the role of Bianca they had no choice but to recast. Christina has taken time to light the fire under her, but she has taken the role and is slowly making it hers.
