Casting Couch: Who Should Play Elizabeth

It seems almost inevitable that we will be getting at least one ElizabethTaylor bio-pic after her tragic death yesterday. It got my brain to thinking as to who could possibly play the diva, the legend, the woman whoinspired so many, many people.

The first one who popped into my brain is the chameleon known as Meryl Streep. We know that Meryl has the chops to pull off the complicated older years, especially the love story that played out with Richard Burton. My fear though is that Meryl may be a bit too old to play the part, or at least for the majority of the movie. For the record I still think Meryl would be a greatchoice for older Elizabeth.

For younger Elizabeth I have an idea but it will be controversial. I think that Sandra Bullock should at least be given some consideration. Sure Sandra is considered America's sweetheart, a title Elizabeth never held but I'm betting Sandy has the saucier side that would be needed to really capture the "Liz/Dick" years.

As for the last chapter in Elizabeths life, there is only one person who comes to mind to play her. Her one time rival Debbie Reynolds needs to play her. Maybe she could even act as a narrator for the entire movie. I know some people are shaking their heads at me but the two reconciled and were great friends before and after the unpleasant Eddie Fisher mess.
