Another day, another twist to the saga of the cancelled soaps. It seems like an eternity ago that ABC announced they were no longer going to be producing All My Children and One Life To Live. However it has only been a mere few weeks but since that time there have been twists and theories galore.
This is no exception, however there seems to be some truth to this rumor. As it goes the new found rumor is that Sony is interested in buying the soaps, marketing them internationally and placing them on the NBC daytime lineup. Now this was something that I had already heard but now seemingly a report by Daytime Confidential has given the rumor a lot more credence, in the report they say that stars have been approached by Sony to appear in soaps they produce. It appears as though stars such as Debbie Morgan, Susan Lucci, and Jacob Young have been in negotiations with Sony's production arm. IN the DC report it says it was for parts on Young And The Restless and Days Of Our Lives but insiders are saying no, thats not the case.
It is said that the price tag for the shows are running in the neighborhood of $200 million for both, and that profits were never an issue for either of the shows. Sony was very impressed with the financial records. This is a breaking and developing story, I have calls to make and will let you know as soon as I know anything....

I hope that there is a lot of truth in this I'd switch over to NBC in a heartbeat, count me in to watch my favorite OLTL!!! I would also watch Y&R & DOOL! Come on Sony there is plenty of fans that would be kissing your feet to do this!!
This is all Hersay With No Credible Sources From Either NBC?Sony. So Dont Get Hopes Up. This Is Nothing Offical. Just More Rumors & I Kind Of Find It Heartless That Someone would post This without any true conformation Of NBC/Sonys plans If Any For These Shows. This Gets fans hopes up only to have them dashed if it doesnt happen.
This would def benefit Sony and NBC...with all the protests sites that have formed on facebook you would then have close to 10,000 fans that would then begin to purchase only Sony items and NBC would begin to see that all the soap followers are watching their station. A win for every-one. Please hear the fans and the consumers...Hoover heard us and stands with us now, now it's you're turn Sony....

Remeber When GL was Going TO WE No Now Its Lifetime, Now Its HAllmark, No Now Its TV Land. It Nevcer Happened & The Proability Of NBC/Sony Saving AMC & OLTL Is Pretty Much Nil.

I will watch All My Children One Life To Live General Hospital no matter what channel they are on. Please make sure to have them available to us here in the USA. I will support your sponsors as I have for the Past 4 Decades. I know that the shows will do great if they are allowed to continue. I would rather keep all the stars that are on them now on them. They are a part of the Family of each of the shows.

My house is already full of SONY TV's and DVR's, my parents and siblings swear by SONY, I am hoping so much that this is true, they are an awesome company already and if they did take these shows on we will all support them and spread the word. Please save our shows, we are millions of the most loyal fans ever, I have been watching every single day for over thirty years!!!!

I believe that there is still a lot of life left in these soaps especially OLTL. I have watched them both since I was very young. I have roped my husband in, my nineteen year old daughter and my 4 year old grandson is already starting to know the characters. Sony please help us heartsick fans.

Sony will be laughing all the way to the bank if this rumor is true!! I will follow them to NBC and continue buying their products. Someone there realizes that the 49 and over do count and that the rating system is wrong. Our shows are saved, jobs are secure & sony & their sponsors will reap the profits!!
This is very encouraging. However, if this materializes, I hope this means the programs would be carried over intact and not splintered with actors playing new, mutated roles on other shows. I really will only breathe easier when ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN find that Llanview and Pine Valley are still their home bases.
ok I hope this all is true if so that means great ratings for NBC and SONY will have more loyal followers than just me ps1 ps 2 ps3 psp tvs lol. I don't quit trying to save the soaps until it is a done deal, since if this doesn't happen it will be like the shows were canceled twice and I don't think I can handle that.So ppl don't stop calling the advertisers until we have a definite answer from Sony or NBC and never watch ABC or Disney ever again
If this is true, NBC will be my network of choice! I've already switched over to The Today Show from Good Morning America! If this is true....Sony has my eternal gratitude and purchasing power.

Sony you have made so happy over the years w/VCR's, CD players, TV's etc...If you bring back ONTL & AMC, you will have my eternal support of your products. If you do the reseearch, the ratings may not be what they once were, but the storylines have so greatly improved recently. Maybe a fresh network, insight & promotional team is what's needed. Also, research how many DVR's & TVo's are recording everyday!
I have a Sony tv and other Sony products, and I would be so happy if they would keep All My Children on the air!
