Breaking: Whitacre Stepping Down
This morning on a conference call, current GM CEO Ed Whitacre announced his plans to leave the auto maker after less than a year on the job. His replacement has already been named: GM Board member Daniel Akerson will take the helms of the giant corporation. Ed says "My goal in coming to General Motors was to help restore profitability, build a strong market position, and position this iconic company for success, We are clearly on that path. A strong foundation is in place and I am comfortable with the timing of my decision.”
