Performer Of The Week: Kathy Griffin

What a week Miss Kathy Griffin has had. Her show went political and she lost  her "lover" Levi Johnston to his baby mama Bristol Palin. This weeks episode, clearly Emmy bate, saw our favorite D-list Diva travel to Washington to help get Don't Ask, Don't Tell repealed. She went through some very intense media training, courtesy of The Human Campaign. While Kathy was taking things seriously, she couldn't keep things too serious and made a caustic joke about Congressman James Clyburn , which threatened all of the work she was doing. Obviosuly this woman is no stranger to her mouth getting her into trouble, but she was able to smooth things over and the rally went on as planned. Of course as we all know by now, she was upstaged by Lt Dan Choi who went to the White House and hand cuffed himself to the fence. Many had suspected that Kathy would leave that part of the story out of the show, since she was not directly involved with it, however the bold star did address the controversy. She let us in that she was invited to join Lt Dan but choose not to because she was running the rally. By going serious and staying true to her character Kathy kept the episode from becoming too preachy and boring.

The viral Video Kathy made, after news of Levi Johnston and Bristol Palins engagement broke shows her sitting on a bed with a copy of Levi's issue of Playgirl. As the video begins Celine Dions version of "All By Myself" plays in the background, Kathy caresses a picture of her once "boyfriend". The not so subtle crying might seem over the top, but then so does the press coverage surrounding the engaged couple and Kathy's alleged heartbreak over their reconciliation. Of course she wouldn't be Kathy without some product placement so between bouts of crying and tearing pictures from the magazine, she reminds us that she has a book out, to watch my life on the D list and to buy her CD. And reveals that her heart break could be over, if Taylor Lautner calls her.

Thanks for keeping us laughing Kathy!! Bravo! Bravo!
