Earlier it was reported that may of Mel’s so called Hollywood friends had abandoned him and would not support him any longer. However best selling author Anne Rice has stepped forward and is lending her support to the fallen star. In a post on her official Facebook page, Anne recounts a story of her own where someone she loved tried to take her down, “Who is going to stand up for Mel Gibson? He's a great actor and a great film maker. He's being crucified because private conversations, possibly taped illegally, are now being revealed by his intimate friend. I was a drunk until 1979. Had my husband taped my drunken rants and later revealed them, he could have ruined my career too.”
Also standing up for Mel is Lance Bass. He chastises Radar online for taking the story of Mels meltdown too far. The former Nsyncer tweeted “I mean, I know Mel Gibson has issues- but radar online makes me sick the way they are exploiting those tapes. It's none our business!”
