Mandy's Musings: Soapnet, Get With It
Mandy's Musings: Soapnet, Get With It!
I don't know about the rest of you, but here in lovely Ohio, we're experiencing extreme heat. I don't know if it's technically a heatwave, but I'm calling it one. And since the word "heatwave" has been stuck in my head for two days now, so has the video that Soapnet made with the ABC Daytime stars. This annoys me to no end. I think that Soapnet did a very poor job on that video. I realize that with ABC Daytime being bicoastal, it would be impossible to get all the actors together so that they could at least be singing at the same rate. But come on! They couldn't have gotten the L.A. actors together? Or had some of them record and then let the others listen and sing along with it so they'd have the same tempo? The video is just so distracting with all the people badly pasted together, jumping around and looking like idiots. After the twentieth time seeing it, I finally noticed the guy who plays Ford and the guy who plays Christian on One Life to Live were in it, because I'd been so busy cringing at the song before. I still stand by my original thought that the only entertaining part of the whole video is watching Gina dance behind Robert. Why couldn't Soapnet have done something comparable to "Summer Nights"? That was a great video! And why didn't they let Vincent sing again? He's got more vocal talent than the rest of them put together!
And since this has obviously become a Soapnet rant, can you guys please update your stuff? "Everyone is talking about Fusion and who should run it." No, we're not. That storyline is done. Get with it. And the comings and goings? Um, we know. You've told us a zillion times, and please please please shut up about Brenda coming back to General Hospital! I don't watch GH, but I've seen Vanessa on 90210. Today, in fact, in a rerun of the show, on Soapnet. And I know it was ABC, but who's idea was it to replace AMC and OLTL with stupid Brenda episodes?
Anyway, it's after midnight, and it's still over 90 degrees in my house, so I'm gonna go play in the rain that has finally decided to fall. Maybe it will break up this heatwave, and I can focus on happier things again. In the meantime, stay cool, gossipers! Because I have something really awesome in the works for you!
